Apply for Health Coverage through Covered California

Covered California is a new health insurance marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act, where individuals, families, and small businesses can compare health plan options and purchase insurance. Low- and middle-income households may be eligible for financial assistance, on a sliding scale, to help cover a portion of their premiums and out-of-pocket costs. In Santa Clara County, Covered California is offering the following health plans: Valley Health Plan, Anthem Blue Cross, Kaiser, Blue Shield, and HealthNet.

Apply for Covered California health plans online at www.coveredca.com or by calling 1-800-300-1506 (interpretation services are available in most languages).  For individuals and families who would like in-person assistance with a Covered California application, click here  for a list of organizations available to provide face-to-face application assistance within Santa Clara County. Learn more about Covered California options for small businesses by clicking here.

NOTE: The open enrollment period for Covered California plans ends on March 31, 2014.  To buy insurance outside open enrollment, you must qualify for a special enrollment period due to a major life event such as birth or adoption of a child, marriage, divorce, or loss of a job. The next open enrollment period begins in October 2014 for coverage in 2015.
